Great Western Road (A82) runs through the West End of Glasgow and Kelvinbridge snuggles along it and off it along the banks of the River Kelvin to Glasgow University and West towards Byres Road. Eastwards, the road runs towards St. George's Cross and into the centre of Glasgow with access to the M8 motorway 3/4 mile away.
The road Westwards leads through the West End of Glasgow to Anniesland Cross and onwards past Clydebank, Dumbarton and Balloch and up the West Coast of Loch Lomond to Tarbet, Crianlarich and over Rannoch Moor and into Glen Coe before arriving at Fort William... and then Eastwards along the North Bank of Loch Ness through Drumnadrochit and into Inverness.
